United Medical Institute is a specialized career school that offers training programs in the medical and healthcare fields. Since 2006, the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program has been the core of UMI’s education curricula. UMI alumni work in radiology and imaging departments of major hospitals and clinics in Sacramento and Northern California. In 2018, United Medical Institute welcomed a new owner, President and CEO. Dr. Inna Lisker continues to build on UMI’s history of excellence and rigor in healthcare education and training. Dr. Lisker earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, her MBA from University of California, Irvine, her Ph.D. from Capella University, and her Graduate Certificate in Legal Studies from Harvard Extension School. Prior to joining UMI, Dr. Lisker held top executive positions at major proprietary career colleges as well as faculty positions at public universities. UMI students and faculty are the heart of our small and vibrant organization. Many of UMI's faculty hold advanced degrees and are accomplished professionals in medical science. UMI's students are highly motivated working adults who display discipline, respect and commitment to their education and to their future profession.
