Raman Research Institute is a premier research Institution located in Bangalore, India. Sir C.V. Raman, an Indian physicist, and Nobel Laureate founded the Raman Research Institute in 1948 to pursue his studies and basic research. The Institute has a rich heritage and conducts cutting edge research in frontier areas of Physics under contemporary research themes. The research in fundamental sciences is in selected frontier themes of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Light and Matter Physics, Soft Condensed Matter and Theoretical Physics. The research work includes Physics of Living Matter, Quantum Information and quantum enabled technologies.
