OCWAR-M
www.ocwarm.euIn line with its commitment to fight against organised crime in West Africa, the European Union (UE) is funding the OCWAR-M project, the West African Response to Money laundering and the financing of terrorism. OCWAR-M is implemented by Expertise France in partnership with the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) of the ECOWAS, its Member States and Mauritania. The main goals of the project are: - Strong legal and regulatory frameworks; - National financial intelligence units trained and equipped; - A reactive and operational criminal chain; - Reporting entites organised and aware of their role; - Effective regional and international cooperation. To reach its goal, the OCWAR-M project has adopted a pragmatic methodology, which includes the mobilisation of high-level experts, the conduct of studies, the sensitisation of the civil society, the organisation of trainings and the development of practical and innovative tools. The OCWAR-M project, along with OCWAR-T (Trafficking) and OCWAR-C (Cyber-security), is part of the programme to fight organised crime in West Africa funded by the EU under the 11th EDF.
