www.suicidebereavementuk.comSuicide Bereavement UK (SBUK) conducts suicide bereavement research, provides consultancy on postvention and develops and delivers evidence-based suicide bereavement training. Examples include, PABBS evidence-based suicide bereavement training, informed by a 3 year study, conducted at the University of Manchester and funded by the National Institute for Health Research, which is first of its kind internationally. SBUK are currently conducting a study which explores the experiences and needs of first responders in the UK, Holland and Germany and will inform the development of evidence-based Emergency Services Postvention Response (ESPR) training, which will be first of its kind internationally. Our team have considerable experience working in this field. We have a unique skill set enabling our organisation to be considered leaders in this newly developing field internationally. SBUK host an annual international conference in Manchester, which is now in its 9th year. Over 400 delegates attend from 15 countries. Dr. Sharon McDonnell (Managing Director) is currently leading a national suicide bereavement survey on behalf of the University of Manchester, in collaboration with the Support After Suicide Partnership. Over 7000 people have participated, making it the largest suicide bereavement survey internationally. A report will be launched in 2020 and will be of international importance.
