A partnership between the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and the i2Cat Foundation, i2Health Sant Pau is a center of innovation that focuses on information technology and communication for health (e-health) as a strategy to improve the efficiency of the current health system and ensure its sustainability. This innovative center, which is funded by the Ministry of Industry of Spain (through the Plan Avanza), began operations in 2011 with an initial investment of 1.2 M €. i2Health Sant Pau is a pioneering e-health center in Spain, modeled on Living Lab co-creation and experimentation, a methodology that integrates all stakeholders in the process of healthcare innovation, including patients, health professionals and engineers, other medical centers and research centers, business and public administration.
