Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional Blockchain technology architecture, Nuclear Chain team proposes a new five-layer protocol architecture for Blockchain. The new Protocol is called Blockchain Network Protocol (BNP). BNP defines the identity, data security, value definition, and value query and value transfer semantics in the native Protocol. This enables to bridge the gap between physical world and Blockchain which is digital world. In other words, BNP truly solves the first mile problem of loading off-chain assets on Blockchain. We define two type of chips which would have the BNP stack implemented into the core and can be embedded into physical devices. One such type is called lightweight BNP device or SPV(Simplified Payment Verfication) device and another type of chip is the full BNP implementation used by Consensus node.
