Lakeland University, Japan (LUJ), is the only fully accredited private US liberal arts university in Japan. Founded in 1991 as a branch campus to the Lakeland University home campus in Wisconsin, LUJ offers the first two years of the undergraduate program, culminating in an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. This "2 + 2" system has served as a spring board to educate and transfer over 1,000+ students to the LU home campus and over 100+ other institutions throughout the U.S. and around the world. In addition to its core undergraduate program, LUJ offers an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program for non-native English speakers, as well as a continuing education program through the Open College.
