Chaiti music festival has the unique distinction of hosting concerts in China which focuses entirely on Indian classical music. The festival works as an initiation of Indian classical music to the Chinese audience During the tour, the artists also hold workshops in collaboration with noted Chinese music schools where they interact with faculty, students and master exponents of Chinese traditional music. The annual festival is held under the banner of Indian Embassy and Consulate and is supported by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The idea to create a platform for Indian classical music originated from a strong will to promote Indian culture and heritage in China. The Foundation’s mission is to create understanding and extend the reach of Indian classical music through out Asia.
