Are was founded on December 8th 1978, by a joint venture between Risdon Manufacturing Company and Armep Plásticos Ltda., and gained its name from Armep-Risdon Embalagens (ARE). On January 14th 1986, Armep Plásticos Ltda. purchased Risdon's participation and changed its name to Are Embalagens Ltda., the only spray pumps manufacturer in Brasil. Since 2013, with the objective to offer new services, diversify its market and attract new customers, Are Design was created. A design studio that develops new products, packaging and graphic design to external clients working as a design consultancy firm, as well as for the the company as a internal design department.
