When with the with the patenting of Oxyfluorination of polypropylene fibres in the mid-nineties, very few local fibre suppliers existed to utilize the technology, Oxyfibre was founded in order to produce and supply Oxyfluorinated fibres initially to the construction market. In the late nineties,Chryso SA started its mining division and together with Oxyfibre decided to co-operate in developing the mining market. Soon after the dawn of the new millennium another technological breakthrough, lead to Oxyfibre patenting a treatment process called Crypsination. The benefits that this specific process added to the range of Oxyfibre products allowed the company to expand into new markets and uncover fresh opportunities. A leading Supplier of mining and Civil fibres via companies such as Chryso SA and Oxyfibre also exports to markets such as Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.
