Wagner Aeronautical, Inc. began operation in May 1993. During this start-up period the focus of the work was rotorcraft with emphasis on life extensions of rotor blades and rotor head components. Within the first year of operation a proprietary process to extend the life of a main rotor blade more than six times was developed, employed, and FAA approved. Within the first two years Wagner received FAA approval to extend the life of more than ten other components (various main rotor blades, transmission beam, rotary rudder sleeve assembly, shoulder bolt assembly, spindle assembly, main rotor damper, horizontal hinge pin, rotating swashplate, main rotor blade control horn, and rotor hub center section). Wagner Aeronautical saw many opportunities within the area of converting large transport airplanes from passenger to freighter configuration. In 1994 Wagner made its entrance into the cargo conversion business as a sub-contractor for the conversion of a 747. Since that time, Wagner has provided engineering support in varying capacities for the conversion of the 727, 737, and 757.
