What sets us a part from other importers is that our focused portfolio is marketed around the social aspect of wine, which is used as a point of entry for consumers to connect with the culture of Spain. THE STORY The concept for Spanish Vines was born when, Founder & CEO, Josh Hackler was living abroad in Oviedo, Asturias during his senior year of college. Through mutual friends, Josh was introduced to Javier Alvarez who shared his love of wine and had the winery connections to prove it. Javier currently serves as the company’s VP of Product. Rounding out the team is the recent addition of Todd Stuart as President. Spanish Vines was officially launched in 2009. That year Josh was named one of Business Week’s Top 5 Entrepreneurs Under the Age of 25 in the US and was featured in both Entrepreneur Magazine and US News & World Report as one of the country’s top emerging young entrepreneurs.
