Institution of Railway Signal & Telecommunication Engineers Licensing Organisation (IRSTELO) is an independent registered society solely to operate Licensing Scheme for Competence Management. Licensing Scheme is applicable to all persons engaged in the specification, design, installation, testing, maintenance or management of signalling, telecommunications and their subsystems which could affect railway safety; and to persons involved with the training, supervision and management of those people. Licence may be issued to any person who can satisfy the requirements laid down in the Licensing Scheme Competence Standards.
