We are commonly known as Dalhousie Food Cupboard, although our legal name is Dalhousie Food Action Group Inc. We run a local food bank in collaboration with the Ottawa Food Bank. Our mandate to is to provide food to ease the financial burden of residents in our serving area who are unable to purchase a steady supply of groceries. Conditional on available inventory, we offer, once a month, roughly a three day’s supply of emergency food to families in need. We also provide assistance to our clients by referring them to other community support services in the area. We are dedicated to serving all our clients with consideration and respect. Our serving area is bounded by Lyon Street on the east, Breezhill Avenue on the west, the Ottawa River on the north, and Carling Avenue on the south. The Food Cupboard is located at 211 Bronson Avenue, between Lisgar and Nepean.
