Hotel Particulier was founded as a testing ground to explore new undefined and transitive formats from the traditional modes of exhibition and commerce exposure and continues to foster research, discussion and production for a wide range of projects through series of programming or through special partnerships. Hotel Particulier was established in 2012 by Frederique Thiollet, and was originally located in an old loading dock at 4/6 Grand Street New York. The space itself was left raw yet finished and created an elevated and clear identity for Hotel Particulier _ offering a blank canvas and allowing for rotating exhibits and experimental projects from Hotel Particulier’ own programming but also from different creative entities in residence. The space offered as well a café and a retail lab. Early 2015, Hotel Particulier closed its physical location and has evolved into a curatorial platform with projects situated in different strategic locations.
