Deep Settle Movement is a young, vibrant, high quality clothing brand with unique designs that are inspired by the South African township culture and urban lifestyle. All of our garments are manufactured in Cape Town, offering an authentic feeling that most brands can't offer. Deep Settle Movement was launched in 2010 by three graphic design students: Asanda Qumelwana, Fezile Retyu and Christopher Mayiji from the Cape Town townships of Gugulethu and Khayelitsha. The three founders met as students at the Cape Town University of Technology and discovered a common desire to share their creativity and started collaborating designs inspired by their surroundings. Unfortunately, many South African townships, including Gugulethu and Khayelitsha, are better known for their crime, unemployment and poverty. However, Deep Settle Movement has become a beckon of hope, not only for South African townships but for the millions of people who face the same struggles. Our brand is a representation of that struggle. We want to inspire our generation and prove that no matter the obstacles or hardships one may face, to use that pain and create something extraordinary. Deep Settle Movement focuses heavily on its humble start and unique backstory to create a memorable brand and tight knit community around its clothing.
