The purpose of WESST is to better engineering student societies and their executives through an association of information and a sharing of ideas to further their understanding of the people, societies and entities with which their societies interact. Currently, there are twelve member societies who participate in the three annual WESST conferences: the Western Engineering Competition (WEC), WESST AGM Retreat, and WESST Executives' Meeting. WESST is also the organization that represents the western region for the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES).
