Sparsh Hospice is a non-profit, fully charitable facility created for the care of people with serious health-related suffering such as cancer, paraplegic and others. Once the illness is termed as ‘terminal’ or they are going through rigorous diagnosis it means that the quality of life of that patient is decreased. Hence in this stage, it is deemed fit to concentrate on improving the quality of life and lessening the suffering. Holistic palliative care approach is to take care of patient and family members as one unit. Sparsh provided physical care, emotional care, psychological care and spiritual care. The flagship project of Rotary Club of Banjara Hills Charitable Trust, Sparsh Hospice, was started in a tranquil lane of the city in Banjara Hills from a rented premise with 14 beds and now has been shifted to 82-bedded state-of-art facility in Khajaguda, Hyderabad. Due to shortage of space for additional beds, we also provide home-care services to terminal cancer patients. For now we have extended palliative care services to around 5,050 persons. Soon we will start 10-bedded separate paediatric ward.
