The School of Education at California State University Channel Islands serves students, families, and communities by effectively preparing culturally-competent teachers and leaders who work collaboratively to inspire learning and promote equity in and through education. From programs in Early Childhood Studies and Elementary Education (Liberal Studies Teaching and Learning options) to post-baccalaureate pathways in Secondary Education and Masters of Arts degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction, we prepare undergraduate and graduate students to be successful professionals in schools and communities. Across these programs, we utilize current research and model instructional practice that presumes all students have the ability to achieve high standards, that defines as effective those educators who adapt pedagogy to reach all students, and that champions diversity (of thought and representation) as a means to make teachers and students better citizens.
