We were created in 1949 as an “independent special healthcare district” and today, we’ve invested nearly $130 million (and counting) directly into programs and projects that make our residents healthier. But we’re much more than a grant-making organization. We take a holistic approach to community health and routinely convene leaders, facilitate conversations, promote partnerships and champion initiatives that address key health issues in our community, from chronic diseases and lifestyle choices to accessing healthy food. Working together, we believe west Orange County can become the healthiest community in the nation. A lofty goal? Yes, and that’s what we like about it. Important change comes from big ideas and we can’t think of anything more important than living long, healthy lives.
