FRONT
frontnu.wixsite.comFRONT aims to identify and reform discriminatory structures that affect the lives of students within higher educational institutions in Denmark. Discrimination can be expressed through behaviour, physical facilities and teaching materials, among other forms. Our methodological approach is intersectional, which means that we work with oppression as it is expressed at the intersections between different categories such as class, health, language, race, gender, sexuality, religion, birth and ethnicity. The United Nations has drawn attention to the fact that there exists a particularly large challenge in respecting the right to non-discrimination within Danish society. On this matter, FRONT refers to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, focusing on §2 on the right to non-discrimination that stipulates the right not to be discriminated against on the basis of race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Reference is also made to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities from 2008, the UN Racial Discrimination Convention of 1965 and the UN Women's Convention from 1979.
