North Presbyterian Church

www.northpresbyterian.net

The Church was formed in 1847 and has been a community of believers in Jesus Christ since then. We invite you to join us for worship or one of our other events. Join us as we seek to be faithful to the call God has made on our lives. At one point in our history we were the second largest Presbyterian congregation in New York City. We are currently a smaller congregation where everyone can know each other. North Presbyterian Church is a multicultural congregation with members who regularly speak English, Spanish and Ewe (one of the official languages of Ghana). As we seek to be faithful, we regularly remind ourselves the following verse from Galatians (6:9): "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give in." North Presbyterian Church is one of approximately one hundred congregations that make up the Presbytery of New York City. Mawuhle Presbyterian Church, a fellowship within the Presbytery whose members are mostly from Ghana, also calls our building home worshiping in our sanctuary on Sunday afternoons. North Presbyterian Church also joins with five other Presbyterian Churches to form the Harlem Council of Presbyterian Churches that conducts joint ministry, including Lenten activities. Our space is also used by a Head Start Program, other community groups and even occassionally for filming. The church buildings are located at 525 West 155th Street at the border between Harlem and Washington Heights. Everyone is welcome in God's house. Whether you come to eat at the community meal or come to worship with us on Sunday, we welcome you. We hope that you will come and join us as we seek to be faithful to the call God has made on our lives.
