Frontline and emerging leaders are responsible for 80% of the workforce, and their happiness levels, yet receive only 20% of any leadership and management development. Research indicates that most managers feel unprepared to step into their first leadership role, and experience high levels of stress and anxiety due to lack of training and preparation. In our experience, working with female emerging leaders, we find there is a considerable lack of self belief, confidence and courage that holds them back from asking for help and speaking up, even when they know they should. If they had support in the form of skills development, coaching, mentoring and a judgement free community where they could ask for help, share ideas and challenges and celebrate together, we would find a world of confidence and influential leaders, ready to be the change they want to see.
