Founders: Charles Francis Coe (1890-1955) had an extraordinary life and career as a noted lawyer, professional boxer, radio announcer and successful writer. Prior to moving to Palm Beach, Coe served as Vice President and General Counsel of the Motion Picture Producers & Distributors of America, Inc. He co-founded the law firm on January 1, 1948, with Gustave T. Broberg. Coe also served as the Publisher of the Palm Beach Post and authored installments published in the Saturday Evening Post. Gustave Theodore Broberg, Jr. (1920-2001) was a college basketball standout, Broberg was the first Ivy League player to lead the conference in scoring for three straight seasons. He was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps after his graduation from Dartmouth College to serve as a pilot in World War II. He lost his right arm when his plane was shot down, earning him a Purple Heart. After reteaching himself to write with his left hand, Broberg became a lawyer earning his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
