Listed on Canada’s Register of Historic Places and a designated Provincial Heritage Place, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a historic and cultural landmark in Saint John, New Brunswick. It’s now over 160 years since the Cathedral was constructed. It needs considerable urgent attention. A talented leadership team is committed to preserving it. The funds raised by the Cathedral Heritage Foundation will address the necessary and long overdue restoration work. The broader vision for the restoration includes a transformed city block that will be a model for urban renewal and again thrive as a residential neighbourhood and a centre of social justice and community outreach.
