NORTHWEST PERENNIAL ALLIANCE

www.northwestperennialalliance.org

In 1984, a group of Seattle gardeners passionate about gardening in the Northwest formed the Northwest Perennial Alliance. NPA was patterned after the Hardy Plant Society of Great Britain, with free garden tours, lectures, plant sales and a seed exchange. Today NPA is one of the largest nonprofit gardening organizations in Washington, with members from Snohomish to Olympia and beyond. With its huge Open Gardens program and network of neighborhood groups, NPA is the best way to meet other gardeners, and learn more about perennials and hardy plants that will survive and thrive in the Pacific Northwest. NPA is famous for its perennial garden, the NPA Border at Bellevue Botanical Garden. The Border provides unique hands-on learning opportunities for NPA members and the public. Spending a couple of hours with one of our volunteer crews is a great way to discover the best plants for Northwest gardens and how to care for them. Our mission is education. NPA is the place to learn more about horticulture through educational programs, garden tours, classes and workshops.
