Mbezi Tiles was established in 1986 under the guidance of Founder and Chairman, Elisante Elikana Muro. In the early 1980s Mr. Muro had encountered a situation whilst building his parents’ home in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania; Wanting to purchase 100 iron sheets for roofing the house, Mr. Muro was informed that he had to obtain a permit from the Ministry of Works in order to purchase the sheets. It was then that he came up with a thought of alternative roofing material (which are the roofing tiles). Thirty-Five (35) years later and the company has expanded into a major building and construction material company in Tanzania.
