American Solartechnics (AST) manufactures highly efficient heat storage systems for solar and wood heating. Our patented Heat Bank storage tank is comprised of insulated wall panels that are screwed together into a square tank on site, making it easy to fit several hundred gallons of storage through a standard door frame or even a basement window. The tank assembles in about an hour by only one or two people. They are double lined for redundancy. The design emphasizes simplicity and ease of use. AST also manufactures highly efficient stainless steel and copper heat exchangers for use in our Heat Banks and other tanks for domestic hot water and space heating. Having years of experience in the solar heating field, we have developed a low-cost long-lived solar collector system that can be installed by anyone with minimal experience. AST is in the process of developing a very low cost (under $2000) wood pellet boiler that is designed to specifically work with our heat storage systems as a non-fossil fuel back up for solar heating or to operate as a stand alone system.
