Our Purpose International School of Qingdao (ISQ) is committed to providing transformative, holistic PK12 education to develop globally-minded individuals who learn, love, and lead. Our Education Since 1996, ISQ has been the school of choice for international families that want to prepare their children for success with robust, rigorous academics and numerous offerings in a familial, caring environment. International School of Qingdao (ISQ) is an international school for pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students. Our college-preparatory curriculum at ISQ is North American in nature and is sculpted for our international community from around the world. Our History On September 23, 1996, eight students and 2 teachers started classes at what would later be called the International School of Qingdao. Since our modest beginnings as QMIS 25 years ago, ISQ has flourished as a community of engaged learners, impactful teachers and committed parents. Since our first graduating class of six students in 2005, ISQ has seen over 400 graduates, taught over 2,300 students and had over 400 teachers and staff. Part of the success that ISQ students enjoy must be attributed to the International Schools Consortium (iSC), of which ISQ is a part. iSC is nonprofit organization that has been in operation since 1986, offering strong academic programs to meet the needs of international families. Our Accreditations ISQ is fully accredited, is recognized by governing bodies, and has affiliations that speak to ISQ's excellence. We're accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges & COGNIA. Cognia accreditation represents three of the six U.S. Department of Education regionally recognized K-12 accrediting bodies and together have been accrediting institutions for 125 years.
