Electricity Engineers Association of New Zealand
www.eea.co.nzThe EEA (Electricity Engineers’ Association) is committed to providing the New Zealand electricity supply industry with expertise, advice, and information on technical, engineering, and safety issues affecting the electricity industry. To do this, we work with and represent over 50 Corporate Member organisations and more than 430 individual professional members. These include Chief Executives, senior engineering/technical managers, engineering and field staff, health and safety managers working in network, generation and electricity retail companies, contractors, consultants, and equipment suppliers. The issues we cover focus on engineering, health and safety, and professional development. The EEA acts as an 'industry voice' to the government, regulators, stakeholders, professional bodies, and the media. The EEA also produces an extensive range of publications for industry and public use, including technical and safety guides, standards and general resources, industry reports, and links to relevant legislation and international information. We actively represent New Zealand in the national and international standard development process and facilitate benchmarking in safety and asset management. The EEA also organises professional development training for industry staff, and has developed close relationships with a number of New Zealand, Australian, and UK power engineering schools and safety training providers to offer leading edge professional development training and resources to New Zealand engineers. The EEA also provides an independent forum to enable debate and engagement on industry, engineering, technical, and safety issues. The EEA Conference, regularly held courses and workshops, are important events for engaging with members and other industry stakeholders.
