Europass is a set of free documents that helps you take advantage of work and study opportunities Europass is a European Commission initiative. It is a collection of 5 documents aimed at promoting the movement of those wishing to work and train throughout Europe, by making skills and qualifications more transparent to potential employers. The scheme is not-for-profit and is therefore both free, and open to all, regardless of age or country of origin. Below is a brief summary of each of the documents with hyperlinks to each corresponding page of our website: • The Europass CV and online editor is a standardised Curriculum Vitae format for presenting academic and employment information to employers throughout Europe. • The Mobility Supplement allows users to formally document time spent learning or training abroad. It clearly explains transferable skills attained. Such experiences can help increase cultural awareness and improve employability in terms of practical, applicable skills. • The Certificate Supplement can be issued by the awarding body who awarded your qualification. It provides basic information about the type of education and training that you have completed. It is an appendix to Vocational Qualification certificates and is designed for use in an International context (although it is also of use in a national context) and is in the same format for all EU and EEA countries. If the awarding body issuing your qualification does not currently issue the Europass Certificate Supplement, then please refer them to our website or ask them to contact us. City and Guilds have recently signed up to issue the Europass Certificate Supplement for future awards. • Finally, the Diploma Supplement is similar to the Certificate Supplement, but it relates to Higher Education qualifications. It provides information about the qualification and content, as well as information about the country’s education system and where your award fits into that system.
