Before starting Go-Getter Resumes, I worked in Human Resources for over 5 years. Three of those years were specific to in-house recruitment. I was the front-line resume screener, and can't even estimate the number of resumes I've read over the years. The positions I was filling were in the construction and oil & gas industries. There were resumes for labourers, drivers, mechanics, administrative assistants, customer service representatives and everything in between. I was the one to decide whether candidates got called, or not, right off the bat. Ultimately, it was usually impossible to get an idea of what it would be like to actually work with the individual based on their resume. Despite the disaster that was most candidates' resumes, we did hire people. I learned that a terrible resume does not equal a terrible employee!
