GVAA, formed in 1957, consists of about 30 volunteer and paid emergency medical technicians that serve twelve (12) hour shifts, either 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. We are certified by the State of Connecticut to operate three (3) mobile intensive care ambulances. All technical members are licensed EMT-B's, or I's and carry certification in cardiac defibrillation through Hartford Hospital. We respond to around 2,500 calls annually. GVAA is a 501C3 organization and incorporated in the State of Connecticut.
