BABEL-Blockchains and Artificial intelligence for Business, Economics and Law
www.babel.unifi.itBABEL stands for Blockchains and Artificial Intelligence for Business, Economics and Law, and it is a research unit established in the Department of Economics and Management (aka DiSEI) at the University of Firenze. The founders of BABEL are prof Mauro Lombardi, an expert in innovation economics, and prof Filippo Zatti, economic law scholar, appointed by the Council as Scientific Coordinator too. BABEL’s governance relies upon two bodies: Council and a Steering Committee. The Council can be made up only by DiSEI members while the Steering Committee is composed of no more than five experts or distinguished scholars in the research field. BABEL aims to promote transdisciplinary skills which enhance research projects as well as lifelong and post-graduate training courses on DLTs, blockchains, smart contracts, and artificial intelligence. The goal is to support regulators building a tailored regulatory scheme to favour both business and social applications of these new technologies and for helping users with the still open legal issues.
