Resilient Landscapes is an innovative new venture created by CIFOR-ICRAF to radically transform land use and agricultural supply chains by serving as the nexus between science and businesses, finance, governments and civil society across forest and agroforestry landscapes. It leverages the power of the private sector and spurs private finance investment in nature-based solutions. In partnership with the public sector, Resilient Landscapes aims to scale up proven, science-based solutions to address our planet’s most urgent and important global crises such as climate change, deforestation, land degradation, biodiversity loss, broken food systems, hunger and poverty. Resilient Landscapes will leverage CIFOR-ICRAF’s knowledge legacy of research-in-development experience in integrated forestry and agroforestry systems that spans nearly 70 years. Through strategic long-term partnerships promoting co-design, co-benefits and robust performance metrics, it seeks to ensure inclusive and resilient landscapes that generate financial, social, and natural capital dividends for investors and businesses. It also seeks to bring socio-political and economic dividends for governments and multilateral institutions, and most importantly, improved livelihoods for smallholder farmers, forest stewards and their communities while ensuring a more prosperous planet for all.
