The Student Union of JAMK University of Applied Sciences – JAMKO is a non-aligned trusteeship and service organization for students of JAMK University of Applied Sciences. Until the year 2005 this work was done in the form of JAMKO registered association. The functions of the student union are based on law called the University of Applied Sciences Act student union section 41 §. The purpose of the student union is to act as a link between its members and further their societal and social as well as study and student’s status related aspirations. The task of the student union is to choose the student representatives in to the board of JAMK University of Applied Sciences and other task groups detailed in the University of Applied Sciences Act, and also take part in the other activities in the school. JAMKO is a member of Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK ry and Finnish Student Sports Federation – OLL ry.
