Kahawatu Foundation was established in 2012 to respond to the decreasing productivity and quality of coffee in East Africa; a crop representing more than 50% of the annual income of millions of smallholders in the region. Applying a holistic approach and a business mindset, Kahawatu engages with stakeholders involved in the coffee supply chain to create lasting and positive change at grassroots level.
