The Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity
www.ssnn.roThe Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity (SSNN) was established in 2005 by an international group of clinicians and basic researchers at the initiative of Prof. Dr. Dafin F. Muresanu, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hatieganu”, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in order to promote a strong collaboration platform for translational medicine and to strength the knowledge flow from academic community to practitioners. Soon after its establishment, the SSNN became an affiliated organ of the Global College of Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration (GCNN), founded by Russell Pendleton, London, UK and Hari Shanker Sharma, Uppsala, Sweden in 2004. SSNN is a scientific organization focusing on basic and clinical research, creating discussion forum to contribute to a better understanding of endogenous basic biological processes and consequently development of pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies for positive manipulation of neurotrophicity, neuroprotection, neuroplasticity and neurogenesis. In order to provide an accurate framework for the future, and accomplish the goals of our Society, an international congress is organized annually in the form of an open stage for debates and updated theories in the field. Beside this, our society is involved in post graduate educational projects with the aim of creating bridges between academic community, researchers, practitioners and pharmaceutical industry. Residents can benefit of scholarships and basic and clinical researchers of grants. SSNN can also provide other complex communication services.
