The Sangamon CEO program is a collaboration between businesses and school districts in Sangamon County utilizing a competitive application process. It is an accredited high school class that connects students to business and community leaders and allows them to experience the challenges and rewards of running a business. In emphasizing real-world learning, high school seniors meet for class at businesses where the business owners share their knowledge and experience. Over the course of a year we visit 50 businesses and host 125 guest speakers. Students utilize what they learn to create a business with real money, including business and marketing plans which students present to bankers.
