BeaSister2aSister is a national nonprofit organization restoring the lives of women who have lived through human trafficking or suffered from other sexual violence. We take a personal approach to providing support during the difficult transitional phase from full first response support to self-sufficiency, providing women with job training and placement, referrals to long-term counseling and the support they never had. To learn more, please visit www.beasister2asister.org The Organization Responding to a need for support during the transitional phase from full support service to self sufficiency, BeASister2ASister was founded in 2012 in order to serve female survivors of human trafficking and other sexual violence. Our leadership team consists of a board of directors working closely with executive director Samantha Inesta. Services Provided We provide support to female survivors of sexual violence by utilizing four pillars: 1. Creating mentor relationships for survivors as they transition from support programs to self-sufficiency. 2. Hosting group events that will create a safe space of survivor-led support and encouragement. 3. Collaborating with other organizations that provide similar support to expand programs and outreach to survivors. 4. Providing trainings, workshops, and education to community organizations on trafficking and the importance of survivor support networks. Referring and Accompaniment We provide referrals and accompaniment to legal and immigration services, medical care, preferred form of counseling, temporary shelter and housing. We provide contact with educational services as well as help with resume writing, GED/ESL and other applications and paperwork.
