The cradle of Possehl is in Lubeck, Germany, where founder Emiel Possehl traded in steel and coal. He had no children and when he died in 1915 he left his business as a foundation to the community. Possehl therefore has a foundation board and has grown over the years through the German "Gründlichkeit" to eight divisions with 160 companies around the world, employing 13,000 people. The total turnover is 3.9 billion euros, with part of the profits being spent on charities, as Emiel decided at the time. Possehl supports youth, art and culture, there is a fund for people in need, and so on. EUR 20 million was donated in 2017, which is possible because the company is in perfect health. Possehl has a strong international character and has very diverse specialties. Our division has four core activities: - Possehl maintains and upgrades roads with special top layers. Think of coloured suggestion strips such as red bicycle paths and green bus lanes. - We maintain asphalt and concrete pavements, so that they can be preserved and their lifespan extended. - Pavements at airports, aircraft aprons, runways and their marking lights. - floor coatings in industry and logistics. These are coatings made from in-house developed and produced epoxies that make floors dust-poor, antistatic, anti-slip and liquid-proof or give a higher light reflection.
