HCEMM / Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine
www.hcemm.euThe Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine – HCEMM - is a gamechanger organization which catalyzes reforming changes in the research culture and makes an impact in the regional development of Hungarian knowledge regions. The organisational and management model ensures autonomy and scientific excellence with an international evaluation system. Research groups are pursuing in cross-cutting fields and are reviewed every 5 years in order to ensure scientific excellence. HCEMM focuses on and supports molecular medicine-oriented research activities targeting key, highly prevalent ageing-related non-communicable diseases. HCEMM was created by the union of the University of Szeged, the Semmelweis University and the Biological Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. They were joined by the National Research, Innovation and Development Office representing the Hungarian Government as project coordinator and by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) as an advanced scientific institution. Supported by EU Programme: H2020-EU.4.a. - Teaming of excellent research institutions and low performing RDI regions. Project starting date was 1 April 2017.
