Our vision is a self-reliant Africa alight with energy and innovation. Our purpose is to create partnerships with rural and marginalised communities to facilitate their fair participation in the economy and society, and to help make their voices heard. We provide extensive enterprise-development support to hundreds of women, youths and adults across KwaZulu-Natal’s rural areas and we are now moving into other South African Provinces. Rural communities, and in particular rural women and youth, are among the most vulnerable components of South African society with the least opportunities to improve their lives. Africa!Ignite wants to help change this. Our operations are currently split into two divisions: Enterprise development and Education development. We support rural crafters, rural research field workers and story-tellers and we run a variety of literacy and educational programmes for children and youth.
