Daniela Conte Foundation
www.danielacontefoundation.orgThe Daniela Conte Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded by Anthony and Katia Conte to honor the life of their daughter Daniela. Daniela fought Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) courageously for 3 ½ years and beat the monster three times before it came back for a fourth time. She passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2020. Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer! 2 out of every 3 childhood cancer survivors develop at least one chronic health condition, possibly including a secondary cancer. Thus, we are dedicated to funding research for new, promising and less toxic treatments specifically for children. Childhood cancer also takes a huge financial toll on families. Oftentimes families are reduced to one income, as caring for the sick child becomes a full time role. Treatments become a huge medical cost, which insurance does not always cover. Travel expenses begin to add up, as the right treatment facilities may be across town, in a different city, or even a different state. Thus, we strive to make the lives of patients and their family members a little less stressful by providing financial support including mortgage and rent, car payments, utility bills, gas and transportation costs, and groceries. In unfortunate circumstances, we also provide financial assistance for memorial services. During Daniela’s battle, she infectiously gained support, prayer, and love by thousands of people across the globe. It is now up to us to come together once again to help finish Daniela’s fight.
