I'm a Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience in the UCLA Department of Psychology, and a member of the UCLA Brain Research Institute and the UCLA Integrative Center for Learning and Memory. My lab investigates comparative cognition. We use various species, including rats, pigeons, people, and hermit crabs using behavioral and psychophysical testing procedures. We study anything from bottom-up mechanisms such as habit learning and Pavlovian conditioning to top-down mechanisms such as concept learning, spatial cognition, and causal inference.
