Basudara Maluku Global is a not for profit organisation purposed with: Sustainable Economic Development and prosperity for people at the grassroots of Maluku as well strengthening cultural identity of Moluccan people globally. What is Maluku? Maluku is one of the poorest provinces in Indonesia and has the second lowest education level. This beautiful province in Eastern Indonesia is made up of over 1000 islands, with rich biodiversity and marine ecosystem. Ironically, Maluku is a resource-rich province, but its raw materials has been exploited by others for centuries, so the people are extremely poor. In the digital era, it is both possible and imperative, that Maluku’s situation be visible and addressed for its survival. How does BMG address the problems? BMG seeks to build solutions by focusing on: 1. Trade 2. Education 3. Tourism 4. Social Programs Trade: • Identify & grow market opportunities globally • Assist local businesses in Maluku to produce export-ready goods • Partner with investors & government departments to develop value-added goods for export markets • Current products include: tuna, spices and eucalyptus oil • Under development: prawns, lobster, barramundi, almonds, coffee, cocoa, copra meal, coconut oil and handwoven cloth. Education 1. Language lessons: www.bahasabasudara.org/ English native speakers volunteer to teach conversational language classes to Maluku students via the website. Currently 66 classes per week coordinated by local institutions. 2. Webinar Series: “Bacarita dari Timur” in conjunction with Dayalima Group is an inspiring and informative series to open the vision of possibility for Moluccans 3. Vocational Training Tourism Create destination plan Develop infrastructure for sustainable tourism such as eco-tourism, scientific & health/medical tourism Social • Humanitarian Relief projects include: Earthquake essential food and water treatment units, COVID-19 distribution of basic food packages 15,000 people impacted by BMG
