Incorporated in 2009 and patented in 2011, the sport of Sabakiball has quickly grown in size and popularity. "Sabaki" is the Japanese term for movement/manuevering and this name was chosen for Sabakiball because of the extremely fast nature of the game, and the non-stop action associated with the strategies. Since its incorporation, more than one million people across North America have had the opportunity to play Sabakiball through leagues, school clubs, and Physical Education classes. In addition to the United States, Sabakiball is played all across Canada, as well as in Africa, Australia, China, India, South Korea, and Spain. Comparable to the early years of basketball, after just four years Sabakiball was introduced into intramural sports programs at a collegiate level. This is why Major League Baseball's Scott Hairston joined the ownership group of Sabakiball. Scott plays an integral role in Sabakiball bringing his family’s generations of experience in professional sports. His participation and enthusiasm about Sabakiball has launched it forward into the sport it is today. The inventor of the sport, Michael Cerpok, is a cancer warrior battling leukemia for 15 years. He is an author, serial entrepreneur, inspirational speaker and youth mentor. Anyone who has had the pleasure to work with Michael can attest to his charisma and wisdom.
