Gary Hilson has more than 20 years of experience writing about business, information technology and innovation in a variety of roles, including journalist, editor, public relations consultant and corporate communicator. He is a regular contributor to several publications in Canada and worldwide, including IT World Canada, where he writes about technology trends and issues that affect CIOs and IT managers, such as cloud computing, data centre management and enterprise storage. Gary has also been a regular contributor to EE Times for more than three years, where he focuses on memory and flash storage technologies, and was recently the interim editor-in-chief of its sister publication, EBN, which covers the supply chain of electronics from end-to-end for a global readership. His articles have also appeared in Network Computing, Information Week, Computing Canada, Computer Dealer, the Ottawa Citizen and the Winchester Press, among others. A journalist by training, Gary applies his background to a variety of projects for corporate clients, transferring the short and pithy newspaper style to blogs, case studies, thought leadership articles and whitepapers. He also has written a great deal of content for web sites and in support of digital communications such as email and social media campaigns. A native of rural eastern Ontario, he has lived in Ottawa, Edmonton and Vancouver and currently resides in Toronto, where he enjoys constructing Lego, collecting comic books and cooking.
