“So, why haven’t the hours of diversity training and cultural competency worked to make our organization more diverse?” Roots of Justice offers consultation and training that can help answer that question and take you to a new level of understanding about institutional identity and culture. Roots of Justice workshops also strengthen the understanding and skills of individuals who are committed to racial justice. Roots of Justice provides Antiracism and Anti-Oppression training and consulting. Our foundational workshop, The Damascus Road Antiracism Analysis Training, spans 20 hours and includes topics such as the history of racism and resistance, the systemic reality of racism, white privilege, racial/cultural identity, and institutional racism. Other program offerings include racial identity retreats, training in institutional organizing, a process for institutional diversity/antiracism teams, customized workshops, and consultation services. Grown out of the Antiracism Program of Mennonite Central Committee U.S., Roots of Justice serves both religious and non-religious organizations and community groups.
