NATA is a non-governmental, non-profit making voluntary organization established in 1953 with a view to raising public awareness about Tuberculosis (TB) by adopting preventive and curative measures towards the control of tuberculosis. It works with close coordination with NTP of National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC), Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Save The Children International (SCI), Kuratorium Tuberculose (Germany). NATA has a long-standing history of collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) as one of the oldest and key partners. NATA is affiliated to The Union and Social Welfare Council (SWC) and is one of the prominent members of the South East Asian Region (SEAR). At present it has 33 district branches in Nepal. Since its inception, it has been conducting various preventive and curative activities to fight against TB. In the year 2015/16 Save The Children International has been selected a a Principle Receipient( PR) for Global Fund Tuberculsois Program, under whom NATA has been appointed as a Sub-Receipient(SR) for the implementation of DR TB management programs at national level. NATA/GENETUP, National Reference Lab (NRL) is providing second line Treatment Laboratory Services to all DR TB Centers situated in Province 4, 5, 6, 7 along with GENETUP DR Center at Province 3 Vision: TB free Nepal Mission: Promote health of people ensuring quality service and rights to prevent and cure TB and other infectious diseases related to lungs and HIV Goal: To reduce mortality, morbidity and transmission of TB until it is no longer a public health problem Objectives: To increase awareness on TB To increase and make TB services accessible and affordable for all To lobby for people centered policy and program To reach underserved communities for diagnosis, treatment, care and support To ensure quality of services To partner with the Government and other stakeholders
